ESG Training
ESG management in-house training
ESG sustainability management corporate training helps supervisors and employees understand how sustainability work impacts their roles. Vosurein arranges conceptual explanations, data exercises, and cross-department discussions based on company reports in progress, client requirements, or management issues, enabling participants to identify what to provide, who should verify it, and how to leave traceable records.
For Your Business
Who this service is for and when to start
Suitable for companies establishing sustainability task divisions for the first time, preparing annual data collection, or needing procurement, manufacturing, finance, HR, and sales to build a shared understanding. Supervisor courses can focus on decision-making and responsibilities; operational staff can practice defining metrics, sourcing, and data verification.
Can be arranged before report initiation, client questionnaire responses, or annual policy updates. If a system and reports already exist, courses can start with common errors, data gaps, and departmental handovers without having to re-explain all basic concepts.
The Challenge
Common challenges faced by businesses
Departments may use different reporting periods, organisational boundaries or units for the same indicator, making data impossible to compare when combined. Terminology lessons alone cannot resolve submission gaps; participants need practice defining the scope of data.
Sustainability reports, investor information requirements, and customer evaluations all have different purposes. Pasting the same text into all documents may omit important limitations or answer the wrong question. The course needs to help participants identify what the question is asking before deciding on applicable data and reviewers.
Our Approach
Methods and applicable requirements
Operations and sustainability issues
Linking corporate activities to environmental, employee, supply chain, and governance issues, discuss which departments hold the data and which issues require management decisions. Case studies are adjusted according to the industry.
Disclosure framework and information use
GRI focuses on the organization’s impact on the economy, environment, and people; IFRS S1/S2 focuses on sustainability and climate-related financial information that affects the company’s outlook. The course will distinguish the judgment purposes of the two, to avoid treating the disclosure frameworks as directly interchangeable.
Data scope and evidence
Practice using worksheets to identify reporting periods, organizational scope, units, and original sources, and recognize missing values, estimates, and prior period adjustments. When data is not complete, gaps and responsible persons should be recorded, rather than filling in unsupported numbers.
Departmental division of work and action tracking
Arrange introductory sessions and data exercises on carbon management, supply chain, or other sustainability topics according to corporate needs, connecting classroom discoveries to responsible persons, improvement work, and reporting methods. Specific standard versions and applicable requirements should be confirmed before the course.
Process
Training Content and Process
Confirm training objectives
Clarify the disclosure or management tasks the company is handling, participant roles and prior experience, and confirm the problems this course should address.
Organize case studies and course outline
Select usable indicators, forms, or questionnaire cases, arrange the ratio of concepts and exercises, and confirm the frameworks and versions cited.
Teaching and departmental discussion
Through data interpretation, case discussions, and group work, check whether participants can explain scope, sources, and the next person to handle the work.
Review outcomes and subsequent division of work
Review gaps identified in exercises, organize supplementary data and follow-up work, and provide course feedback and application suggestions as agreed.
Preparation
What documents do companies need to prepare?
- Training objectives: Reports, questionnaires, or management requirements, and the skills participants are expected to have.
- Participant composition: Departments, roles, foundational knowledge, and expected number of participants.
- Existing data: Reports, indicator definitions, forms or redacted examples available for discussion.
- Time and Format: Expected dates, hours, teaching method, and required depth of practice.
Project Planning
Estimating time and cost
Scope depends on topic numbers, participants’ experience, cross-department involvement and the work needed to prepare cases. Concept sessions and detailed data workshops require different preparation. Agree on learning tasks before setting course hours.
Report preparation, formal greenhouse gas inventories, questionnaire submissions and verification preparation are separate scopes of work. A course of a fixed duration does not guarantee a completed report or an assessment score.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are colleagues with no sustainability background suitable to join?
Yes, they can start with departmental work and common data, then move on to relevant frameworks. If there is a large difference in learners’ levels, it can be divided into common foundational and role-based practical sessions.
Can GRI and IFRS S1/S2 be taken together?
It is possible to arrange comparison and connection, but the distinct information purposes and materiality assessments of both must be preserved. Course depth depends on whether the learner is a manager, sustainability contact, or finance/data personnel.
Will internal training complete the company’s sustainability report?
Internal training mainly develops understanding and execution capability; report data can be used for practice. The complete report still requires data collection, analysis, preparation, and review, which should be confirmed separately within the project scope.
Can courses be focused on specific departments only?
Yes. Procurement can focus on supplier data and questionnaires, HR on employee indicators, finance and management on information judgment and governance divisions.
Can customer questionnaires be used as cases?
A preliminary set of questions or a redacted version can be provided first; practice can be designed after confirming confidentiality and usage rights. Formal responses still require the company to verify data and confirm commitments.
Does the course guarantee compliance with all disclosure requirements?
No such guarantee is made. Applicable requirements depend on the company, year, and framework used; learning outcomes also need to be separately confirmed with actual data and system operations.
How can learners’ understanding be assessed?
Assess understanding through data scope exercises, source tracing and departmental worksheets. Ask participants to explain their reasoning and information gaps, rather than relying on attendance alone.
Can online or staggered sessions be arranged?
Yes, they can be planned according to participant numbers, discussion format, and company scheduling. For exercises requiring cross-department joint decisions, how each session exchanges outcomes will be confirmed first.
